FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

            On November 29, 2011 Lawrence Police were dispatched at approximately 3:27 p.m. to the 500 block of John Doy Court in reference to a stabbing.  Upon arrival officers found a female victim inside of a residence with apparent stab wounds.  The female victim was transported to a Topeka area hospital via ground ambulance in serious condition. 

            A male suspect was contacted at the scene and is currently being interviewed by detectives.  The victim and the suspect were known to each other.

            Detectives and officers are currently working the crime scene to determine the events and circumstances surrounding the incident.  There will be no further information on this incident released at this time and any further updates will be posted at www.lawrenceks.org/police.

UPDATE

November 30, 2011

            On November 29, 2011 Lawrence Police arrested one subject in reference to the apparent stabbing that occurred in the 500 block of John Doy Court earlier in the day.  

            Timothy L. Foster, 04/28/1972, was arrested without incident on charges of Attempted First Degree Murder.  Foster is a Lawrence resident.  The name of the female victim is not being released at this time.  The victim is currently in stable condition at a Topeka area hospital.

            Lawrence Police officers and detectives have been dedicated to this case since it was reported and continue to investigate it.  No further information will be released at this time.  Any further updates to this case will be posted at www.lawrenceks.org/police.  Once Foster is officially charged, any further inquiries should be made to the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office.
