FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

            On November 30, 2011 at approximately 3:30 p.m. Lawrence Police were dispatched to 603 West 9th Street, Central National Bank, in reference to a robbery.  It was determined that a male subject entered the business and approached the teller station.  The suspect demanded money from the tellers and they complied with his demands.  The suspect obtained an undetermined amount of money and left the business.

            An officer in the area observed the suspect and he was captured a short time later after a brief foot pursuit.  The suspect was taken into custody without incident.  The Lawrence Police Department is currently working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation to determine the events surrounding the incident.
