For the past 14 years the Lawrence Police Department has hosted the Lawrence Police Department’s Police Camp. This Police Camp is a program established to promote positive interaction between the Officer’s of the Lawrence Police Department and the children of Lawrence. The program is put on by the Lawrence Police Department's School Resource Officers.

The curriculum includes a wide range of activities that incorporate teamwork, physical fitness, general police information and good citizenship. There were 60 children in last year’s camp that was held June 9-11, 2011 at Free State High School. Police Camp 2012 will be held on June 7-9, 2012.
